Keeping the Flame Alive on Your Wedding Anniversary

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

By Ian Tham Wedding anniversaries are special events. Especially those big ones that mark 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th and 50th anniverary . On that special day, you can take time off to reminisce the past. You can take a look at your mementos starting from your first date. Do dust off the photo album and go through pictures of special occasions such as your wedding day or delivery of your newborn child. You can play the video of your wedding day or dress up in your wedding clothes. Maybe by now they are too small or tight for you. On this day, you stop and reflect the state of the union between husband and wife. Then it hits you so hard that you have actually spent so little time on your dear spouse. Why? We have got to concentrate mind and soul on our careers and slog hard from morning to night at the office. By the end of the day, both partners are tired and too exhausted to talk to each other. Then your focus of attention will be on your kids. You have to take care of them play with them ,feed them, monitor them and supervise them . You have to check whether they have eaten , bathed and done their homework. Besides work and family commitments, you have to worry about finance . Do you have enough money to pay bills ranging from housing, car loans, groceries, clothes, school fees? It’s enough to kill the joy of marriage. But on the other hand , you can reflect on the positive, such as overcoming problems and obstacles through strength and perseverance. Both partners should share something in common. Shared experiences makes a lot of difference. Here are a few examples.Saving money to buy your first house. The two partners deciding where to live, and what kind of house to live in. The couple can find delight in sharing tasks together. I remember taking care of my baby son. He would cry in the middle of the night wanting either to change diapers or to be fed. We would turn turns looking after baby. She would be tired out attending to his night time needs after one or two days. I would then take care of baby on the subsequent nights. We go to church together to worship the Lord and it’s such a wonderful spiritual experience every Sunday. We also go to the gym and workout together. Both partners need to have same mindset or similar interest. Both my wife and I enjoy going to the movies, love children and enjoy traveling. What similar interests do you have as a couple ? Find out what similar interests both of you have. Is it a particular kind of food, movies or travels? And when baby comes along , make sure you also have some time to spend on your own. Ideally, you could get your parents or parents in law to help take care of baby. On this special day, take time to reflect what both of you wanted to do together but never got down to doing it either due to work or family commitments. Find out what he or she likes . If she is fond of good food then bring her out for a good scrumptious meal at a expensive restaurant . If she likes shopping then bring her out to her favorite shopping mall and help to buy dresses and whatever she likes (something like Richard Gere bringing Julia Roberts out in ‘ Pretty Woman’ and decking out her in designer fashion wear) She may like you to serenade to her with a beautiful song or poem. Lastly, a bouquet of flowers work wonders too. You can commemorate each wedding anniversary by exchanging anniversary rings. You can get find out more about the 1st wedding anniversary to the 10th wedding anniversary as well as find the ideal anniversary ring to give at http://www.anniversary-rings.net Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Ian_Tham http://EzineArticles.com/?Keeping-the-Flame-Alive-on-Your-Wedding-Anniversary&id=105250 apply online student education loans for bad credi apartments with no credit check in atlanta ga bad credit car loan lake elsinore paycheck stub software

Weight Loss Problems - Or is it a Self Image Problem?

Monday, May 26th, 2008

By Greg Ryan Some of you will not like what I have to say, even though it is the truth. And that may be where the problem of Americans health problems lies. No one wants to give you the truth. My responsibility as a high profile fitness expert lies not in if you like me, or even if you buy my e books. My responsibility lies in giving you straight talk with no sugar coating it. You want quick fixes to your health problem that has taken years to develop. You get it by purchasing gimmicks that promise you fast results. You fall for it, and at the end of the day you are more frustrated than every. Why? Because you are denying the root of your problem. Do you have a weight problem of a self image problem? What ever it is you need to get to the bottom of it. Where down the line did you develop the idea that you do not deserve to feel better and look good? How in your life said, You are not worthy of good health? And when did you by into the notion that someone had a right to take your self esteem away from you. No one has that right, but you do have that choice. Americas have more of an approach to weight loss and fitness problem rather than a numbers problem. Your weight problems come down to how you fell about yourself. Dont blame it on this product failing or that person not allowing you to succeed, or even there is no time. None sense! I have counseled thousands of people over my twenty year tender as a personal trainer, health club consultant and best selling author. And in all my travels, the answers to peoples problems with weight come down to one thing: how you feel about yourself. My approach with people is, either you pay a price now or you will pay a bigger price down the road. I am really tired of dancing around and trying to pat people on the back and say, Its OK you can do it. When all the while, most I know are in the least bit serious about their health, and have no idea what they are in for down the road. If you are on the fence of whether or not to start an exercise and weight loss plan, I suggest you either become hot or cold. None of this luke warm stuff. You, America is on the verge of a health crisis. The longer you wait the more of chance you have of having a disease. Here is a portion of one of my e-books found at www.resolutions.bz The A Factor The Secret to keeping your weight loss program going! Twenty years ago, I did not aspect toaccomplish what I have in the fitness world. And Isurely didn’t dream about writing best sellingbooks. However, two things I did know; first byexercising and eating better allowed me to beinvolved in something much greater than me. Andsecond, I was not afraid to ask for help and support. We live in a world filled with pride, denial andlaziness. It’s just that simple. Your success inweight loss, sports conditioning or generalfitness comes down to one simple thing, asking forhelp. Our country use to be goal oriented. People use totake pride (good pride) in the fact that they werein a process of accomplishing something. Today, most want something for nothing. If that were notthe case, America would not be the fattest nation onearth and getting larger every day. Very soon each one of you will either choose or beforced to take some personal responsibility inyour health and fitness levels. Forced? Yes! Thetruth is, the way things look, each one of you willeither face the music on your terms or some life changing circumstance is going to come your way that will force you to take a good long look at your health. Scare tactic, you bet cha! So what do you do? You, get a medical check up ifnecessary and just start moving. Quote: With all the fitness and diet programs out there, you would think people in our country would begetting in better shape. We’re not. Why? All of usare confused, frustrated and burdened down at thecontradictory of medicine and fitness for onereason, and the other reasons involve issues wehave already discussed. The key in motivating yourself to exercise is to keep your eye on the big picture. If you don’t, the details will become a quicksand pit. The big picture is: JUST MOVE IT! So much money and time is spent on gimmicks anddiet fads that only get used for a short time, with little or no results. The big picture is about being realistic, not tohave high expectations, but to focus on internalhealth issues, such as blood pressure, body fat, cholesterol levels and a quiet mind. Thechallenge is that you have grown accustomed tobeing motivated by instant gratification. It ismore of a priority to look good rather than tohave lower stress levels. You get frustrated because you are trying to fighta battle you can’t win with something fast andeasy. It’s called aging. You blame aging on otherthings in hopes there is something out there thatyou can do or take that will get you the resultsyou want in the shortest amount of time. The truthis while good looks are a good measurement; theyare only perks in the big picture? THERE ARE NO MAGIC FORMULAS! FROM MY BOOK JUST MOVE IT! www.resolutions.bz Next you ask for directions and support. This may be the make or break it area in your success in getting in better shape. When developing a good support system, there are important things to remember. Here are a few things to mark off your checklist when you are building personal fitness accountability. What kind of people do you associate with? ***Toxic - Non-supportive, pessimistic, victimmentality. ***Non-Toxic - Encouraging, happy, forwardthinkers. Do you consider yourself to be a prideful person?(Is it hard for you to ask for directions? ***Asking for support is a sin of strength notweakness. When was the last time you went on a vacation? ***Rewarding yourself for hard work motivates youto push harder and stay focused. Do you have any honest and authentic people around?you? ***Find a trustworthy friend to help you, with yourgoals. Do you have anyone you admire? ***Find someone you can emulate. Planning Your Outdoor Wedding Reception

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

By Randy Wilson An outdoor wedding reception can be host to an almost unlimited number of guests and has the aura of nature that can never be duplicated in an indoor ballroom. Some of the following outdoor wedding reception ideas should help to get you started with planning this special day, including avoiding some of the dangers involved with an outdoor setting. One of the great advantages of outdoor wedding receptions is the cost. If you have your own suitable parcel of land, you can save thousands of dollars over the rental of a reception hall. Even renting someone else’s private land for the event is generally cheaper than a ballroom. Hosting an outdoor wedding reception at a public park is not recommended because public parks are just that: public. It can be difficult to control who will and will not end up wandering around eating the hors d’oeuvres. There is plenty of private acreage for rent just about anywhere, quite suitable for a large outdoor wedding reception. This allows you more managed access to the event. A great thing about the outdoors is that you can have games and entertainment that wouldn’t be possible indoors. Outdoor games such as horseshoes and croquet are always a hit and can help to keep the younger guests occupied and out of trouble. The one thing you simply can’t control is the weather. Outdoor wedding receptions are always at risk of being caught up in a storm. Plan for rain, hope for rain, even pray for rain! This way, the worst streak of bad luck will result in a beautiful, sunny day. Set up plenty of sheltered space to ensure adequate coverage from the elements. Even if the weather stays clear, large canopy tents provide your guests with some relief from the sun. Even when the sky is beautiful, any open space is subject to being hit by gusts of wind. Assume that anything able to blow around, will. Some things to keep in mind are tablecloths, napkins, disposable cups and plates, centerpieces, seating arrangement cards, and SCENTS from trash cans, neighboring pig farms, etc. Supply bug spray and sunblock for your less-prepared guests. Perhaps a small booth off to one corner of the lot could be dedicated to this task. Citronella candles around the perimeter can also be quite effective in this regard. Distribute a large number of trash receptacles throughout the outdoor wedding reception area. Guests are more likely to pick up a fluttering plate or napkin when they are near a place to discard it. You will also want hire an attendent whose sole job is to patrol the site and keep things stocked up and litter-free. Copyright Randy Wilson, All Rights Reserved. Do Your Very Best in All Things — Because Someone Is Looking….

Friday, May 9th, 2008

By Don Monteith Your job is to rise ABOVE the challenge. Do more than is expected. Say nothing negative about anyone or anything. Yes, that is easier said than done for most of us. Still, it is simply good advice for all. You never have to watch your backside when there are no boomerangs returning. DRIVE A NAIL Just today I was reading about a Dad who made his son drive a nail into the fence every time his temper flared. After about 37 nails hammered into the fence the young fellow decided to curtail his outbursts. Every time the son contained his temper Dad let him go to the fence and pull out a nail. For a moment, lets look at the fence together. What do you see? Thats right, an unsightly fence with lots of holes in it. Point is our outburst or tantrums. criticisms or put-downs. will always leave lasting holes/scars. Most of us have wishes and regrets in the past. Probably wish we could retract those unkind words unfurled in a moment of anger. Cant do it! Permanent for all to see. Gossip is hurtful too. Sometimes its real juicy stuff. Then it gains momentum. Next person kinda embellishes the details. Reputations can be ruined for no reason. Did you know? Too often the person asking the question does NOT know either but thinks they have the lowdown in full detail. Cant wait to tell ALL the juicy details so “they” can pass along to more people, then others, plus some. WHATS THE POINT Business is built on TRUST. Confidentially. Integrity. Faithfulness. Your office staff also has to treat each other with respect IF you want success. There is NO place for gossip in your business. No place for anyone to share juicy tidbits heard at the water cooler. Even about the boss or the secretary to the chief is off-limits. Walk away from it. Dont be a party to anything negative. Live your life in the positive and never look back. Your esteem will be intact. Feel good about yourself and see the best in those around you. Work hard at whatever you do. Hopefully the work ethic was instilled in you at an early age. Often times a mother and/or father work two and sometimes three jobs to make ends meet. Sacrifices are made for the family to make provisions for their welfare. With determination many mountains have MOVED. There are NO glass ceilings for those who are unwilling to be blocked. An old saying is a rising tide lifts all boats and there is every reason for YOU to be upon the rising tide. Bring others along with you. Shatter the glass ceiling. Many a company owner or CEO has risen beyond the limits. College degree required? Race? Sex? Age? None of these can stop the charger who knows no defeat. RISE ABOVE THE LOSERS Discrimination gets blamed as an easy excuse. Sometimes it does happen. But if you work hard and can clearly demonstrate your talent and expertise the hold down ropes give way. Nothing can resist the charge of relentless determination. You see Montel Williams with his own TV talk show. Did it just happen? Trace his story through a Naval Officer career. See his childhood with Mom and Dad who worked 2 and 3 jobs to support their family. He had good role models. Many others like Montel Williams have risen to celebrity status through sheer determination to succeed. To be and to become the best they can be in their field of choice. Negotiating deals. Asking questions. You need to ask. How is my life going to be different? Am I willing to accept the challenges involved? How long will I have to study in the field of choice? (4) Can I gain the respect of my peers? Learning is a major part of excelling at any job. You need to be well versed in all aspects of your business. Reading industry publications. Participating in Seminars. Going to conventions with the industry giants. Become known as a contributor to the welfare of your group. Remind yourself that you are the ONLY one that can define who you are. Dont let someone else do it for you. Never compromise your character to appease others. Define your own limits, strengths and abilities. Remember the man who built a house with cheap materials? Tried to cut corners to save money. Make more profit for himself. When he finished building the house it turned out to be a gift to his family from his boss. Our biblical admonition is worth repeating. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you (even if NO ONE is looking!). Build your product or provide your service as if it were for you. Maybe your boss will do something special for you, too. If you own the business, then recognize that YOUR boss is at home waiting! ACTION TIP: Your own integrity drives your actions. It matters not whether someone is looking. Control your temper at all times. Gossip not. Repeat only good ideas or thoughts about others. Live your life in the positive. Overcomers have no handicaps. Ask yourself the questions that determine your direction for NOW and in the future. Don Monteith spent 32 years as co-owner of several franchises and a personnel/staffing business. Grads and Dads Great Gifts For U$50

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

By Lance Winslow Fathers Day and Graduation are coming, so it will be time to think about getting gifts for these special people in our lives. What is a great gift, which is simple and we be well received. I remember once my dad bought me a small battery charger from Sears. I am quite certain it did not cost that much, but boy was that a wonderful gift indeed. I cannot tell you how many times it saved my butt. Another year my dad bought me a set of really Good jumper cables, again I cannot even tell you how many times I helped save someone elses butt. Occasionally yes, I save my butt too. A really good set of quality jumper cables is only about $15 to $25 and a battery charger well they run about $25 to $50. They are really smart for grads and yes Dad with all his hobbies will need one too. They are great for motorcycles, ride on lawn mowers and all the family cars. It sure makes him look like a stud, when he can make something work again. That my friends is satisfaction for a father; father saves the day. See he is good for more than lifting heavy objects and reaching high places. Dads like to be problem solvers and they derive strength and happiness from getting the job done and over coming problems. Give them a boost with a new battery charger for fathers day. For female grads, let me tell about Triple A cards. The American Automobile Club can save your daughter, sister or friend from a potentially dangerous situation in a dark parking lot or on the side of the road with a flat. Triple A membership cards offer lock-out services, free towing and myriad of services. If for some reason there are no hunks around to give her a jump start and rescue her from a dead battery, well then Triple A is only a phone call away with jump start service too. Graduation gifts and Fathers Day do not have to break the bank. If you have a sister or brother or grandson or granddaughter; think on these easy gifts. If your Dad is tops, he deserves the pride and satisfaction which comes with being a father, a problem solver and pillar of the family; think about. “Lance Winslow” - Online Think Tank forum board. How to Handle Inter-faith Marriages

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

By Amy Spade Youll know long before you start the wedding plans if your faiths are different from one anotherso this shouldnt be a shock. And you may have already begun how you want to deal with this. It doesnt have to be a problem; rather, it can be a great way to create a new ceremony for the both of you. Deciding to convert Before deciding to convert to one religion or another, you want to take your time to discover why youre doing it. Do you truly want to convert to another religion or do you just want to make your spouses family happy? This is a very honest discussion to have with your self and there arent any good answers, except for the ones that are true. If you feel that converting is a good decision for you, then by all means, go ahead and take the steps needed. Many times, youll have to take classes and speak with the religious head well in advance of any wedding plans. The trick is not to feel pressured into converting. And with all of the emotions attached with a wedding, some families may have trouble accepting someone of a different faith. If you believe that you want to remain the faith that you are, you should do so. And if your spouse is trying to coax you into converting, you may want to hold off on the wedding as well. This is a very personal choice, and it needs to be made by the individual, not everyone else. A dual faith wedding Its actually very easy to have a wedding that incorporates two different faiths. Sit down and see what each faith requires at the wedding and then talk about how you can compromise to make sure all is proper. You may want to have the wedding in a non-denominational setting so that you dont have the home court advantage for one faith or another. You may also decide to have two different ceremonies weaving in and out of one another, combing elements of both faiths. This really shows the commitment to each other and to the separate faiths. You may also want to have two different ministers or one denominational. Thats up to you, but if youre a part of a temple or a church, you may need to be married by one of the parishs priests or synagogues rabbis.
